Dr.Ciera Fox; ND, Bsc

Dr. Ciera Fox graduated with honours on the deans list from the University of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelors of Kinesiology and furthered her education at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster.

Dr. Fox has lived in Chilliwack for nearly 30 years. Throughout that time she has developed a strong passion towards the promotion of living a lifestyle that focuses on prevention as a way of achieving longevity and optimal health. She believes that the key to living preventatively is through making meaningful connections with others and ourselves, getting our bodies moving, eating whole foods, and getting outside and playing.

Dr. Fox’s approach to health care is simple: individualizing medicine in order to meet the needs and expectations of her patients. She believes it is pertinent that patients have a voice and are heard so that their health concerns can be truly understood and then addressed accordingly. Ciera treats holistically by understanding the interconnectedness of different health concerns a patient may present with and creating an approach to care to address them together.

As part of Dr. Fox’s practise, at times she may be required to order lab testing in order to help guild her treatment plans.

On a personal note: One year prior to starting her 8 year academic journey towards becoming a naturopathic doctor, she became a mom to her now 10 year old daughter. In their spare time they can be found playing at the river or the many lakes and mountains surrounding Chilliwack.

Ariel Dumais, RCC

I believe that every individual has the ability to heal and grow and live at peace, and I work collaboratively with my clients to support them on their journeys towards greater well-being. I strongly believe that change is possible when a therapeutic alliance is built between the counsellor and the client. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I am constantly working to evolve my counselling philosophy in ways that will benefit my clients. If you are seeking support and guidance through a difficult time, I would be honoured to work with you one-on-one.

In my practice, I specialize in helping my clients build resilience and motivation using a trauma-informed, person-centred approach. I structure my counselling style by incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) as well as Mindfulness-based techniques. I enjoy working with a wide range of issues from OCD and anxiety to self-esteem and trauma. I have found it especially rewarding to work with young men as they navigate their youth and teenage years and transition into emerging adulthood.

Anika Sawatsky, MA,RCC,CCC

I believe every client possesses the innate wisdom and strength to grow, change and heal and I view every client as the expert on their own experience.  My role is to walk alongside clients on their journey of wholeness, healing and autonomy as they connect with themselves and look inwardly with compassion and curiosity. My relational, non-judgmental approach helps clients to explore emotions, beliefs and sensations as they gain insight. It is truly an honour to accompany others through times of transition and challenges, and to help them see their way to the other side.

My therapeutic approach is predominantly humanistic-existential with a trauma-informed, feminist lens. I use this approach because it resonates the most with me and what I have experienced and observed: that we as humans are affected by oppressive systems as well as trauma that we have endured, which affects the way we live. The way to heal from this, or rather, become whole is through finding meaning. As the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important components of a beneficial experience in therapy, I use empathy, metaphor, curiosity and sometimes humour to assist clients in their journey of self-discovery and finding meaning.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” - Carl Rogers
